has been changed from willow to dry pasture with orchardgrass and other grass species
This area is adjacent to Trout Creek and a water well on the property shows alluvia]
water within 4 feet of the surface. However, according to the landowners, it is simply
too small to consider any other use except grazing. As long as they have owned the
property (since 1968), the field has simply been grazed in late summer for a very short
period of time. No special crops or other important agriculture has ever been used on
the property.
In conclusion, the narrowness of the valley, the slicing of the river, the location of the
road and its past and present vegetation and uses do not qualify the deposits in the
mine area as an alluvial valley floor.

•

Revised 6/10/98
212-2
~.C ~, ~, ?9SR
T~ -/O
