EXHIBIT B - Mining Plan
Topsoil of about 12" will be removed and stockpiled on West part of
track. Overburden of about 27" will be removed and stockpiled. Stockpile
slopes will be generally about 3:1 which is three to one on side and 4:1
on end.
Removal will begin at about the middle of the tract and proceed in an
easterly direction. Material will be removed by front end loader.
Mining of gravel will be performed to the underlying shell layer, a total
depth of about 12 feet. Front end loaders will load gravel into trucks
for hauling away of the gravel. A screening plant will not be used. An
estimated two acres will be mined per calendar year for a total of about
40 cyds/year.
Amendments as requested by Bureau of Mined Land Reclamation:
1(a) Stockpiles overburden and topsoil will be drilled to 8 lbs.
pls forage sorghum. Stockpiles will be west of the site and will
be seeded annually in the Spring and left unharvested for erosion
control and wildlife use.
2(a) See revised mining plan map.
3(a) The landowner has requested that sand drop seed and sand
blue stem not be used in their mixture.
(b) The area will be protected from livestock grazing by fencing.
ADDENDUM
Reference to Question 1 posed by BMLR: The question refers to the seeding of
stockpiles. These stockpiles are temporary, four to five years (or estimated
time for pit to be operated). Sand blue stem, as is also true with most
perennials, take most of the four to five years to become established. In the
meantime, annuals must be dependent upon to provide protection.
Annuals, by volunteer seeding and by stocks remaining, probably would give
erosion control cover with reseeding every other year or possibly every third
year. Evaluation of repeat seeding needs would be evaluated on site each year
by the appropriate soil conservation district, with follow up action, whether
the perennials were included or not.
~° ..y N-
~ fir...<.~ ~-

nn.
v'J:C.
