H. Sign Location and Placement. All signs aze subject to the following location and <br />placement restrictions and requirements, except as provided elsewhere within this <br />section. <br />a. Signs shall identify or advertise only directly applicable interests or <br />activities conducted on the premises or lot. Off-site signs, being <br />signs advertising products or services available at other locations <br />other than on the premises or lot on which the sign is located or <br />signs duetting persons to locations other than on the premises or lot <br />on which the sign is located, aze prohibited. <br />b. No sign shall be posted, placed, or erected within public rights-of- <br />way and roadways. <br />c. No sign shall be posted or attached to trees, public utility <br />improvements, lighting poles or fixtures, traffic signs, or traffic <br />control devices. <br />d. Signs shall comply with the setback requirements of the district <br />zoning in which they aze located and the principal use to which they <br />apply, unless otherwise specifically exempted or specified elsewhere <br />in this Section. <br />e. No sign shall be located so that the safety of a moving vehicle or <br />pedestrian will be impaired by obscuring a driver's vision. Signs <br />shall not obstruct or interfere with vehicle sight lines at intersections <br />or points of access along roadways. <br />f. No sign or any portion thereof may project or extend above the <br />parapet wall or top of the exterior wall or building facade upon <br />which the sign is mounted Freestanding signs may not exceed <br />fifteen (15) feet in height above existing grade. <br />1. Signs which project more than four (4) inches over a pedestrian <br />walkway must allow seven and one-half (7 %2) feet of clearaace <br />between the bottom of the sign and any pedestrian walkway. <br />m. Freestanding signs shall be located within. a landscaped azea or the <br />disturbed azeas beneath the sign shall be prepazed and revegetated <br />such that the pre-existing natural landscaping has been re- <br />established. <br />Gilpin County Zoning Regulations 49 <br />
