Y. T151't~G RESli(.TS
5Af General
The follgwing sections provide a summary of the results of labonrory testing conducted on
the demonstrtttign SCB backfill ntix design.
5.02 Soil-Cement-Bentonite i4fix Design
5.03 Density
The wet density of the SCB mix design is provided in Table V. The wet density of the mix
was recorded as [08 pcf.
5.04 Perme3bitity
The result of the permeability test is provided in Table V, The permeability of [he mix was
recorded as 5.0 x t0~ centimeters per second (cmtsec). The mix design mee[s the
engineering criteria for a minimum permeability of 5.0 x 10'' cm/sec.
5.05 Unconfined Compressive Strength
The results of the unconfined compressive strength tests on cast cylinders of backftlt are
I provided in Table V. The unconfined compressive strength of [he mix design after 7 days of
curing was 38 pounds per square inch (psi} and after 14 days of cunng was d$ psi. The 28-
day strength Witt be provided as an addendum tq this report. The mix design appears [hat it
will suf!"icient meet the performance criteria of 30 [0 106 psi for unconfined compressive
strem_th at the 28 davs curing.
9j+ .~ i.
