The project is located in an area that is not mapped as suitable lynx habitat <br />There is a nearby stand of Douglas-fir that bas been mapped as suitable denning habitat <br />However, this is a small isolated pocket that is several miles from other larger expanses <br />of Douglas-Sr/Spruce fir habitat Based upon current studies being conducted in <br />Colorado by the Colorado Division of Wildlife (CDOW) and in Montana by the USFS <br />this small stand does not provide conditions suitable for lynx denning. <br />4 <br />
