I~Ln REV>Ew <br />There have been both office and field reviews of this proposed project for Threatened, <br />Endangered, Sensitive and Management Indicator Species that are known to, or may <br />potentially be found in the area affected by this project, Wildlife and habitzY surveys were <br />conducted for the project during the late spring of 2005. In addition to studies for this <br />specific site, habitat and wildlife studies have been conducted throughout the general area <br />since 2002. This background data has been used to better evaluate the importance of this <br />area for wildlife when compared with other similaz habitat in the North Fork Valley. The <br />tables included with this report list the Threatened, Endangered, & Sensitive Species <br />(TESS) and Management Indicator Species (MIS) that may potentially be found in the <br />area affected by this project or are listed by the GMUG as occurring on forest Lmds. <br />BIOLOGICAL ASSESSMENT FOR THREATENED AND <br />ENDANGERED SPECIES <br />The U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service (FWS) lists two vertebrate species and one phut <br />species which occur, potentially occur, or habitat for which occurs on the Gnnnimn <br />National Forest as Threatened, Endangered, or Proposed under the Endangered Species <br />Act of 1973; Canada lynx (threatened), bald eagle (threatened), Colorado pikeminnow <br />(endangered), Humpback chub (endangered), Razorback sucker (endangered), Bonytail <br />(endangered) Clay loving wild buckwheat (Endangered} and Uinta Basin Hookless <br />Cactus (threatened). The yellow-billed cuckoo, Gunnison sage grouse and boreal toad <br />are listed as candidate species. The purpose of this document is to analyze the effects of <br />the proposed project, descn-bed below, to determine if formal or informal consultation <br />with FWS is required for any of these species. <br />HABITAT & SPECIES DISTRIBUTION AND EFFECTS DETERMINATION <br />Table 1 displays current information on habitat and T&E species' presence within the <br />project area <br />
