a/ - Definitions of Sample Type
1. A 'ccmposite" sample, for monitoring requirments, is a minimum
of four (4) grab samples collected at equally spaced t:wo (2)
hour intervals and proportioned according to flow.
2. A 'grab' sample, for monitoring requirments, is a six:gle "dip
sad take' sample.
3. An 'instantaneous' measurment, for monitoring require:meats, is
a single reading, observation, or measurment performed on site.
4. A 'continuous' measurment, for flow manitoriag requix~meats, is
a measurment obtained from an automatic recording device which
continually measures flow.
5. A "visual' observation, for oil and grease monitoring
requirmeats, is observing the discharge to check for the
presence of a visible sheen or floating oil.
6. An "ia-situ' measurement, for monitoring requirements„ is
defined as a single reading, observation or measurement taken 1a
the field at the point of discharge.
