RECLAMATION PROCEDURES
K.AUFFMAN AND SON's reclamation of mined lands in the
subject area will provide a basic level of reclamation.
The reclamation process will include grading, grass seeding,
drainage where necessary and the planting of limited number
of trees and shrubs where appropriate. Where appropriate,
additi~~nal reclamation procedures will be undertaken with
regard for ultimate land use of the area and on the basis
of economic considerations. Basic reclamation process will
be as follows:
(1). Grading.
T~~psoil and other over-burdened removed before and
daring the mining process is used to shape ground
s~irface into final contours, re-establishing old
1,3nd forms or creating new ones for ultimate land
u;se. Where possible, growing soils are preserved to
u;ae in revegetating plained areas. Where appropriate,
steep slopes are reduced to more gentle ones and
o~~er-burdened which had been stored or stockpiled is
s~~read or used to reform or recreate new land forms.
(~). Drainage.
Reclamation of the site will be designed so as to
m~iintain desired drainage conditions for various areas
ii7cluding dry sites, marshlands or ponds. Such minimal
structures such as ditches, culverts, and spillways,
shall be provided to insure proper drainage to maintain
the reclaimed site in the proper state.
(3). Revegetation.
Graded land which is to be revegetated will usually be
p:Lanted in the Spring. This revegetation consists of
seeding the disturbed areas with suitable seed mixtures,
consisting of either native or introduced grasses or
both.
EXHIBIT "E"
