Section 2 con[.
page 2
Section 2.6 Trends
Basically there are no identifable problems with water quality
constituents. The trends for SAR, conductivity, pH, total dis-
solved solids (TDS) and water levels show little, if any, effect
from mining activities. Four wells - GA1, GA2, GD2 and GF-6 -
ahow a decrease in water levels but these are in close proximity
to active mining areas and this decrease is thought to be the
return to premining conditions after water levels were increased
by mining. These wells are located in undisturbed areas that
monitor ground water aquifers between mined areas.
The salinity data is presented as TDS levels instead of conduc-
tivity. Our conductivity data still produces a non-consistent
pattern which does not allow an accurate trend analysis to be
made. A piezometric surface for the Twenty-mile sandstone
aquifer was not produced. Ae previously discussed with the Divi-
sion, drawing a water level surface from two data points is of
little value.
