<br />EQLlfF~ME11T SPEC7 =IC.~TlOI'JSI <br />SECTION II SECONDARY TF.E~ITME"iT SYSTE.`t PAGc <br />"HYDRO-AEROBICS" WASTEWATER TRE.4T`U::IT SYSTE.`1 <br />PREFABRICATED STEEL <br />1. GENERAL <br />1.1 The contractor shall furnish and install one prefabricated Wastewater <br />Treatment System, complete and ready for operation in accordance with <br />the plans and specifications stated herein. The treatment plant shall <br />be a "Hydro-Aerobics" Model ~ ?00 prefabricated steel package as <br />manufactured by "Hydro-Aerobics" International, Inc., Milford, Ohio. <br />The wastewater treatment system shall be of the activated sludge type, <br />specifically known as "Extended Aeration", designed for treating a total <br />of 20,000 gallons per day of 210 PPM-BOOS domestic sewage based on <br />composite sewage samples of the average daily flow. The complete system <br />shall include all necessary equipment for efficient plant operation. <br />1.2 The system shall be factory assembled, so far as possible, with all pipinf; <br />and controls. All surfaces shall be factory painted. <br />1.3 OTHER SERVICES AND EOUIPME"1T <br />The field contractor shall perform and/or make the following arrangements: <br />C <br />A. Field unloading and setting of the wastewater treatment plant on its •• <br />foundation pad, anchoring in position where required. <br />B. Assemble into position, at the location shown on the plans, [he <br />ancillary equipment which has been disconnected at the factory for <br />shipping purposes. <br />C. Interconnection of piping and wiring which may have been disconnected <br />at the factory for shipping purposes. <br />D. Tie-in of all piping, power, and wiring connections to site uCilities. <br />E. Furnish foundation pad to set the system on. <br />F. Attach system to foundation pad by anchoring. <br />G. Touch-up painting of those areas damaged during installation. <br />H. Install drain plugs and fill tankage with water to prevent floatation. <br />2. PROCESS AND OPERATI?!G I`lSTRUCTIONS <br />2.1 INFLUENT CHARACTERISTICS <br />The system shall be capable of treating 20.000 gallons per day of raw <br />domestic sewage, having an organic strength of 210 PPM 5 day BOO, and 210 <br />PP"1 suspended solids. No substances shall be introduced in quantities <br />which are toxic to biological organisms. The plant shall be designed to <br />handle average daily flows fluctuating over the range of 60": to 100'; of <br />design flow and peak hourly flaw rates not to exceed 250: of design :low. <br /> <br />-p HYDl90•DE~O€~1C?i <br />
