EXHIBIT D
MINING PLAN
The mining and reclamation of the property will be done in
five area phases the areas of which are designated on the re-
clama[ion and mining plan map. The mining will be conducted
in only one area phase at a time but the over burden of each
phase will be deposited in the cuts of the prior phase prece-
dent to re-establishment of the topsoil thereover.
AREA P}IASE ONE:
The topsoil will be removed and located on the north and
east peremiters of the property. All such topsoil will be
retained~fpr further use on the site. If necessary a quick
cover crop such as rye or oats will be planted to stabelize
the stock piles. Topsoil will be held and replaced consist-
ent with Rule 6.4.
Next the over burden will be removed from Area Phase 1
and be relocated on the Southern portions of Area Phase 1, pre-
viously mined.
AREA PHASE TWO THROUGH FIVE:
Each of the next four phases would proceed in a manner
similar to Phase One with the provision that the fill from
phase two would be relocated on the Northern portion of phase
one and likewise thoughout the project. Further it is an-
ticipated that contours on area phase two thFough five would
be in a ratio not greater than 2.1. ~' •~ ~
It is the desire of the operator to be mining only one
phase per year and filling and reclaiming the prior phase in
the same year. This desire is motivated by the hope of min-
imizing the area subject to distrubance and erosion in any one
year. It is anticipated that the total project will be mined
over 10 years.
At or about the completion of the fifth phase it is an-
ticipated the opperator will apply for additional permits to
mine north of the fifth phase. If such is the case it would
be desirable to use portions of the fifth area phase for stock
piles and access and request for defural of topsoiling and re-
vegitation will be made as a part of that application.
The northern portions of the 6.31 acres under permit num-
ber 76-51 will be used during the five area phases for stock
piles, work areas and access. Under the circumstances the
existing piles of topsoil will be held until completion of that c~Gc
use. Thereafter, a pond will be established near and fed by 3'
the spring on the property, and grades will be established within
the requirements of Rule 6.1. Thereafter the portions of the
6.31 acre tract to be covered by water or roads will be top-
soiled and revigated as outlined below.
It is anticipated that during only one year approximately
2-3 acres will be subject to moderate to minor disturbance
from refilling, topsoil and revigetation and approximately 4
acres will be subject to moderate disturbance in the form of
stockpiles work areas and roads.
The pit is a dry pit and water is noC used during the pro-
ject. No water diversions are contemplated during the pro-
ject.
