Since the total disturbed area of the North Pit is 7.15 acres + approximately 1.2 acres of
downspoil to be covered with topsoil, the total area to be topsoiled at the North Pit is 8.35
acres.
As shown in the calculations below, Topsoil Stockpile #2 contains 44,500 cubic yards of
topsoil.
Topsoil Stockpile # 2 Volume Report 07/14/2002
Lower Left grid corner :2313475.60,1220621.28
Upper right grid corner: 2313758.54,1221232.84
X grid resolution: 160, Y grid resolution: 230
X grid cell size : 1.77, Y grid cell size: 2.66
Stockpile volume :1202871.3 ft3, 44550.8 yd3
As 6,500 cubic yards of this volume will be retained for the haul road reclamation and
covering the portion of the Permanently Reclaimed SpoIls Area that will be redisturbed,
38,000 cubic yazds will be excavated and spread over the 8.35 acre North Pit azea and the
1.08 acres of haul road to be reclaimed. This yields an average calculated respread topsoil
thickness over the area (9.43 acres) of 2.5 feet. The operator commits to at least 1.0 feet
in all azeas. Since the total amount needed for cut/Sll balance at the North Pit is 62,008 cy,
the amount of regular fill brought to the Pit is 62008 yd3- 38000 yd3= 24008 yd3.
TROB, TRll (v1.0) 5-33 Revised 9/97, 08/02
