North Pit Backfill and Retopsoiling Calculations <br />The following calculations for cuts and fills were made by gridding the existing and final <br />surfaces in Survcadd. <br />North Pit Volume Report 07/14/2002 <br />Comparing GRID file: E:/ewingmesa/NORTHPITX.grd <br />and GRID file: E:/ewingmesa/NORTHPITF.grd <br />Grid corner locations: 2314564.29,1221080.62 to 2315317.93,1221914.64 <br />Grid resolution X: 300, Y: 300 Grid cell size X: 2.51, Y: 2.78 <br />Area in Cut :77827.5 ft2, 1.787 acres Area in Fill: 152838.0 ft2, 3.509 acres <br />Total inclusion area: 230665.5 ft2, 5.295 acres <br />Cut to Fill ratio: 0.20 <br />Average Cut Depth: 5.28 ft. <br />Cut (yd3)/ Area (acres): 2874.38 <br />Average Fill Depth: 13.64 ft. <br />Fill (yd3) /Area (acres): 14584.26 <br />Cut volume: 410963.21 ft3, 15220.86 yd3 Fill volume: 2085176.90 ft3, 77228.77 yd3 <br />Based on the above information, 15,220 cubic yards will be cut material from the existing <br />surface. Approximately 4,000 cubic yards of this amount will be cut from the downspoil <br />on the North Pit outslope by a lazge excavator. The remainder of the cut material is from <br />excess bench material on the outer segment of the North Pit bench that will be used to <br />balance the fill volume on the North Pit bench.
