<br />Schedule for• Phase l <br />Estimated start date - April 1998 <br /> <br />Estimated end date - October 2003, (period of flagstone mining depends on demand) <br />Reclamation - April 2004, (following completion of Flagstone mining) <br />Phases II and III are also scheduled for consecutive 5 year operation plans depending on demand. <br />Major mining components -Phase 1: <br />Existing access road up the east side of the hogback to be improved (approximately 13!4 <br />miles). Improvements will consist of regrading and adding 12-inch-high water bars as <br />needed. No culverts or other drainage conveyances are planned. <br />2. The existing staging area of approximately 4.5 acres located about L7 miles north of the <br />originally proposed staging area will be adopted for use. A rock tumbler will be set up at <br />this location and the area will be used for interim storage of pelletized rock. <br />4. There will be no buildings erected on the site, as the existing ranch house and <br />outbuildings will be used to support the operations. If needed, portable s0'uctures will be <br />used to support the operations. <br />5. There will be no pits, shop/maintenance buildings, plants, or openings for mining. <br />Mining will consist of removal of loose rock from existing rock slides. A rock cutter <br />may be used to cut rocks to specific sizes and shapes. A rock fumbler will be used to <br />produce pavers from waste rock. <br />6. The locations and dimensions of the anticipated soil and waste-rock stockpiles are shown <br />on Exhibit E. <br />7. Approxima(ely five truck loads of rock per day (10 - 20 tons) will be removed from the <br />mine site and hauled to the staging area. Rock will be shipped via semi-truck from the <br />staging area to place of sale on an as needed basis (I-2 trucks per week). Thus, there will <br />he minimal impacts from increased traffic on County Road 13. <br />The only watcr needed for the proposed operation will be that required for dust suppression on <br />the road and at the staging area and for tumbler operation.
