C~erational History of th Facility
The site was permitted in 1980, but actual mining did not
start until the mid-1980's. The mining should be
completed between 1995 and 2,000. Below is the narrative
and typical cross-section taken from the approved plan.
After mining the land will be reclaimed by refilling the
property with reject material and clean inert fill on top of
which will be placed a minimum of 6" of topsoil. Therefore
the disturbed area that will reveAetaced is the entire
property, or 42.75 acres. Once again a row of drought
resistant trees on 50' approximate centers will be placed
along U.S.85.
Except for the 10' setback areas along the abutting roads
that von't be mined, reject material and clean inert fill
material will be placed to approximately 6" below final
elevations. The clean inert fill will primarily be obtained
from the operator's other company, Siegrist Construction
Company, from road projects. The debris is considered inert
by the State Health Department and does not require a
Certificate of Designation (See Exhibit M - Pages 48-50).
The operator may also allow other contractors to dispose of
such debris, but the operation will not be open to the
general public.
On top of the clean fill and reject material will be placed a
minimum of 6" of topsoil that will then be seeded. Any
compacted areas, such as the scale area, will be ripped prior
Co replacement of topsoil and seeding. The property will be
gently sloped to alloy drainage to Nome Street and 132nd
Avenue. This area has already been subdivided into lots and
those lots are shown on Exhibit F, Reclamation Plan MaD, but
the final land use is not known. The property would be
suitable for residential, commercial, or some industrial
uses. Which will occur will be left to future decisions.
As with the A Phases in regards to topsoil depths, it should
be noted chat the thickness specified will be depths replaced
on prepared ground surface. Some consolidation of the medium
may also be expected to occur due to the equipment replacing
_ __ the soil and to natural processes during precipitation
--~ events. _
" TOPSOIL MINIMU M~ L ~O
AREA TO BE FILLED w/SPOILS @ ~ CLEAN
FILL ~
WATER LINE / ~ /
AREA WNICM MAY
BE EXCAVATED @
BACK FLLED W/SPOIL`
8 CLEAN FILL.
