<br /> <br />E. ape, Size. Expected Active Life. and Operation Histor <br />Tvpe The facility is only to be utilized for disposal of inert <br />material as defined in the Solid Waste Regulations. No <br />gate charge will be placed on the disposal of this <br />material. <br />More specifically, the fill material will only consist of <br />concrete and uncontaminated soils from road and other <br />construction projects. Most of this material will be <br />consist of "cured" concrete that has been allowed to <br />harden for a minimum of sixty days. Except for rebar <br />within the concrete, no metal will be disposed of in this <br />site. As much as possible, exposed rebar will be cut off <br />of the concrete prior to disposal and recycled. No <br />asphalt will be disposed of in the site, except for a <br />minor amount that may still be attached to the demolished <br />concrete rubble. As much as possible, asphalt is removed <br />from concrete hiahways and recycled prior to breaking up <br />of the concrete for removal and disposal. <br />0 Any concrete that has not been hardened for a minimum of <br />~ sixty days will be allowed to "cure" on site in a <br /> separate area out of the water table until a minimum of <br /> 60 days has passed. Generally this type of material comes <br />~ from either "spoiled pours" or "comeback" concrete. <br />`S Spoiled pours is concrete such as curb and gutter, <br /> highway lanes, etc. that had to be torn out because of <br /> improper placement. Comeback concrete is concrete which <br /> is returned in a mixer truck from a project where the <br /> amount was misjudged and cannot be used. The liquid <br /> concrete is emptied from a mixer truck and allowed to <br /> harden. This concrete contains no rebar. Both spoiled <br /> pours and comeback concrete will be placed in a separate <br /> area away from any contact with the water table and <br /> allowed to harden for a minimum of 60 days prior to <br /> placement below the water table. <br />Size The site is approximately 42+ acres in size, although <br />with required sloping and the need to retain some <br />operational area throughout the site life, the actual <br />fill area will be between 30 and 35 acres in size. <br />Life The expected amount of fill material being placed on the <br />site to achieve final contours is 750,000 cubic yards. <br />The site life is hard to judge, since the amount of fill <br />material available is dependent upon highway and other <br />construction activity within a reasonable haul distance <br />to the site. However, the estimated site life for <br />filling is 10 to 15 years, or until the year 2,010 to <br />complete filling and reclamation. <br />
