Permit # M-97-094
on behalf of our client i am requesting extension until July
31, 1998, for the three items to be covered by a Technical
Revision as noted in your Inspection Report of February 3, 1998.
The items you needed information on as a result of the inspection
concerned blasting, truck loading and dust control. As we
discussed in March it made little sense to submit a Technical
Revision for two items and then do a Technical Revision for the
blasting later when we complete it for the larger mining opera-
tion surrounding this mine. My mistake was not conveying this to
you in writing and asking for a continuance until the blasting
issue was resolved.
In the following text I will bring you up to date on the
three areas of concern. As we have consistently stated, there
has been NO blasting at this site since September 1997. There
will be NO blasting at this site until we have an approved
Blasting Plan as required by the Mined Land Reclamation Board.
We have hired Mr. Gorden Revey of GEOTEK and Associates, Inc., to
prepare the blasting study and plan for submittal to the Divi-
sion. we expect this to be done in time to get it before the
Board in July. Once it is done I will file the required TECHNI-
CAL REVISION for this permit addressing all the concerns.
