I • were based on a mixture of construction materials. All material is hauled to an open pit. All
information regarding structure volumes and costs can be found in Attachment 13-4.
Powerlines. Powerline demolition was based on the appropriate crew as published in Means.
Powerline lengths were taken from Exhibit 12-1. An estimate of daily production was made to arrive
at the total cost for removal. Total length of line that traverses the permit area is five miles. Please
see Worksheet DEMO-1 in Attachment 13-4 for costs.
Facility Areas. After the buildings are demolished and disposed, the site is reclaimed.
The top one foot of gravel/scoria surfacing on the parking/storage areas will be ripped with a dozer
and then picked up and hauled io the diesel fuel tank area where it will be topsoiled and seeded Isee
RIPFAC-1 and HAULFAC-11. Concrete foundation areas will be hauled to an open pit for disposal. The
entire parking area will be ripped to a depth of three feet. Approximately one foot of topsoil from the
topsoil stockpiles will then be hauled by scraper to the ripped parking area.
Miscellaneous Utilities. Underground utility reclamation, including phone lines, water lines, and
powerlines, will be abandoned in place.
Sediment Ponds. SCC proposes to also keep sediment Ponds 004 and 008 as permanent
impoundments. Three sediment pontls (002, 003, and PECOC0) have been approved as permanent
ponds (Pond 002 was approved as a permanent impoundment in CDMG's Proposed Decision and
Findings document dated December 31, 1986; PECECO was approved as a permanent impoundment
in CDMG's Proposed Decision and Findings document dated November 10, 1992; and Pond 003 was
approved as a permanent impoundment in CDMG's Proposed Decision and Findings document dated
June 6, 1997. Appendix 7-6a presents the permanent pond demonstration for Pond 002, the as-built
is shown on Exhibit 7-8. Appendix >-6b presents the permanent pond demonstration for Pond 003;
the as-built is shown on Exhibit 7-11. Appendix 7-6g presents the permanent pond demonstration for
PECECO, the as•bui11 is shown on Exhibh 7.18). Locations of all impoundments can be found on
Exhibit 12-9, Postmining Contour Map. Embankment volumes were taken from existing, proposed,
and typical designs as shown in Chapter 13. The embankment material and sediment accumulated
from the ponds would be dozed into the surrounding area to reestablish the drainage. Please refer to
worksheet for calculations.
Road Reclamation. The two types of roads requiring reclamation within the mine site are haul roads
that are to be totally reclaimed, and roads that are presently haul roads but will be left for the
13-54a Revisetl 12/04
