State, and local eater pollution control, eater quality, <br />air pollution control, and air quality standards. <br />(c) To comply with any exploration or mining plan, or amended, topple- <br />mental, or partial plain, approved in accordance with the regulations in 43 <br />CFR Part 23 (to the same extent •a if operations under this lease were <br />surface mining), the requirements of paragraph (b) hereof, and other terms <br />and conditions of this lease, and to take such steps as may be specified in <br />any such plan for the preservation and protection of the environment end for <br />the protection and conservation of nonmineral resources during the conduct <br />of exploration or mining operations, and for Che reclamation of lands and <br />eaters affected by exploration or mining operations. <br />(d) To comply with the requirements for cessation or abandonment of <br />operations under any exploration or mining plan, or amended, supplemental, or <br />partial plan, approved in accordance with the regulations in 43 CFR Par[ 23 <br />(to the same extent as if operations under this lease were surface mining), <br />the requirements of paragraph (b) hereof, and other terms and conditions of <br />this lease, and to carry out end complete operations, including all reclama- <br />tion requirements, in accordance with any such plan. <br />• (e) Upon approval of en exploration plan or mining plan, to file with <br />the lessor and maintain, in addition to the bond required under subsection <br />2(a) hereof, a bond in an amount of not less than $500 per acre of ]and <br />estimated to be affected during the first 3-year period of exploration or <br />mining operations, and thereafter during each succeeding 3-year period of <br />exploration or mining operations, or in such amount as may be established <br />at the time of approval of any exploration or mining plan, including amended, <br />supplemental, or partial plans, whichever is greeter, but in any event in <br />an amount of not less than $2,000, which bond shall be conditioned upon <br />the faithful compliance with the regulations in 43 CFR Part 23 (to the same <br />extent as if operations under this lease were surface mining), particularly <br />Sec. 23.9, the terms and conditions of this Sec. 5, and any approved ex- <br />ploration or mining plan, or approved amended, supplemental, or partial <br />plan, es the same relate [o [he preservation and protection of the environ- <br />ment--land, water, anti air--and the protection and conservation of nonmineral <br />resources during the conduct of exploration or mining operations, and [o the <br />reclamation of lands and waters affected by exploration or mining operations. <br />l• ~ <br />
