The amount of the bond may be increased or decreased upon approval of
<br />an amended, supp]ementa.l, or partial mining plan which includes an increase
<br />or decrease in the estimated n er of scree to be affected during the
<br />Period of exploration ar mining' bone covered by the plan, but in no
<br />event ehnll the smount become le khan ;500 per acre of land estimate8 to
<br />be affected, nor less than $2,000 in total amount, during the period of
<br />operations covered Dy t;he plan. The bond may be released as to lensed lands
<br />affected by exploration or mining operations during the period covered by en
<br />approved exploration w~ mining plan, or approved emended, supplemental, or
<br />partial plan, nt such i;ime ns, and to the extent that it is determined by
<br />the lessor that such lands meet the reclamation requirements of the approved
<br />exploration or mining plan and that operations have been carried out end
<br />completed with respect to these lands in accordance with the approved plan.
<br />(f} To take such reasonable steps and to conduct operations in ouch
<br />manner as may be needed to prevent operations fram unnecessarily: (1)
<br />damaging any forage and timber growth on the leased lands, or on Federal
<br />or non-Federal lands inn the vicinity; (2) damaging crops, including forage,
<br />timber, or improvements of a surface owner; or (3) damaging improvements
<br />whether owned by the United States or by its permittees or lessees. The
<br />lessor may prescribe the steps to be taken and the restoration to be made
<br />with respect to the leased lands and improvements thereon, whether or not
<br />owned by the United States, in the event of the occurrence of damage
<br />described in this paragraph (f).
<br />• Sec. 6. Removal of property on termination of lease. Upon termination of
<br />this Leese, by surrender or forfeiture, the lessor, his a¢ent, licensee, or
<br />other lessee, shall have the exclusive right, nt the lessor's election, to
<br />par chase at arty time within 6 months thereafter, at the eppreise3 ~zlue there-
<br />of, any or ell structures, equipment, aachinery, tools, appliance s,an_ rateri-
<br />els, whether fixtures or personalty, placed by the lessee in or on the land
<br />leased hereunder, other than ell underground timbering and such other surports
<br />and structures as are necessary for the preservation of arty mines or other
<br />underground develor er,t works, which shell be and regain a part of the
<br />realty without further consideration or compensation; the p,u•these price
<br />to be paid for such structures, equipment, machinery, tools, appliances,
<br />and materials shell be fixed by appraisal of three disinterested an3 com-
<br />petent persons (one to be designated by each party thereto and the third by
<br />the two so designated,!, and the valuation of the three or a majority of t`iec:
<br />shall be conclusive; pending such election to p~u•c}are ~.•ithin said pzrio3 of
<br />6 months, none of tho:>e structures or of},er property shall be n,o•:e3 from its
<br />normal position.
