Bill Mead, Partner and Senior Ground-Water
Hydrologist, Mr. Bill Moore, Partner and Senior Geotechnical Engineer and Mr.
Hasan Akhtar, Soils Engineer visited the Bourg Mine site.
Field density tests were conducted in the fill and excavation areas.
Three in-situ sand cone density tests were performed at a depth of 0.5 feet
below ground surface. Two field density testa were conducted in the fill near
the east and northeast edge of the fill area, at stake locatlon Point 27 and
65 feet west of stake location Point 9, respectively. Two bulk samples of the
fill material were collected at each location for further laboratory testing.
One field density test was performed in the general area being stripped.
Moisture content of the field density soil samples was determined on site.
Results of these tests are presented on Table A-1.
TABLE A-1
SUMMARY OF FIELD DENSITY TEST
•
Field In-Place
Moisture Dry
Test _ Content Density IInified Soil
No. Location (Percent) (lbicu ft) Classification Comments
1 Stake 027
(fill) 6 84
2 66 Ft.
