~i

presently but the maximum elevation must be maintained at less
than the elevation of the railroad. The area should drain in
a southeasterly direction. The regrading operation should
extend no closer than 100 feet to the Boxelder Ditch. It is
recommended that any permanent structures which might be built
in this area be designed to withstand the forces during sig-
nificant floods, since the entire area is within the flood
plain of the standard project flood. This involves structural
considerations, placement of first floor elevations and locations
of utilities. The long access of permanent structures should
be oriented southeast to minimize backwater effect during
significant floods. The area southwest of the Boxelder Ditch
could also be included in the area to be developed as an
industrial park. Some provision may have to be made to mitigate
the impact of any loss in storage due to development of an
industrial park.
G-14
