<br />(ii) A Stormwater Management Plan has been submitted as <br />Appendix A of the Preliminary Response Plan provided to the <br />DMG by letter of April 23, 1999. Also see Section (16) of this <br />document. <br />(iii) Design specifications for the 1-acre Stormwater retention <br />pond have been submitted to the DMG as a technical revision by <br />letter dated April 16, 1999. It is not anticipated that this pond will <br />contain toxic or acid-forming materials as a part of the mining <br />process. <br />(b) A Stormwater Management Plan has been submitted as Appendix A of <br />the Preliminary Response Plan. Maintenance and inspection of drainage control <br />and containment facilities will be conducted according to requirements specified <br />by the Colorado Discharge Permit System. <br />(11) (a) Surface water standards that apply to Piceance Creek are those for waters <br />designated as Use-Protected and classified for Recreation Class 2, Agriculture, <br />and Aquatic Life Warm Water Class 2. <br />(b) Five successive quarters of USGS surface water quality data for two <br />gaging stations on Piceance Creek has been included with this document as <br />Attachment 3. This information has been provided as specified in the <br />Groundwater and Surface Water Monitoring Plan, Section 4.0, Surface Water <br />Monitoring. <br />(c) DMG representatives were consulted during development of the <br />Groundwater and Surface Water Monitoring Plan. <br />(12) A Groundwater and Surface Water Monitoring Plan has been submitted as a <br />technical revision to the 112 Permit Application by letter dated April 23, 1999. <br />(13) (a) Not applicable. American Soda will not use designated chemicals or <br />produce acid mine drainage in its mining operations. <br />(b) Climate data for the Little Hills, Colorado recording station has been <br />included with this document. Wind information for the Cathedral Bluffs Oil <br />Shale Project Tract Cb has also been provided as Attachment 4. Additional <br />climate information can be found in the 112 Permit Application, Exhibit K. <br />(14) Geochemical data and analyses have been provided in Appendix C of the <br />Adequacy Response. <br />(15) (a) Development of the Piceance Site, including those structures categorized <br />as EPFs, is discussed in the 112 Permit Application, Exhibit D. <br />A-5 <br />
