Jay Stewart revised August 5.1981
Flatiron Paving Company
P.D.Box 229
Boulder. Colo. 80306
• Commentsi The two soil series. Fluetsch and Cryorthent, represent
99,x$ of the total land area as can be seen 6n the enclosed
~ map. The area's marked in red are highly saline and should
be avoided in any reclamation procedures. The horizon
depths given for the two soil series are different in
some samples than the depths listed by the Soil Conservation
Service The 5CS soil profile descriptions are those
of a 'typical' soil far a particular series therefore.
variations in horizon depths are usually encountered.
The information obtained in C`e SC5 Soil Survey manual
and the soil data I have provided should be sufficient
to adequatly describe the topsoil in the mining area.
A comprehensive site specific soilsurvey would provide
little additional information.
John H~v1i~~Y~"G~
Agronomist
'~ Colorado State University
Dept. of Agronomy
Ft. Collins. Co. 80523
• ,
• M-8
