Virginia Ave. <br />Gunnison, CO 81230 <br />Re: Gunnison County's Taramarcaz Pit, Gunnison County <br />File No. M-85-072 <br />Dear Mr. Ashwood: <br />The application for a Mining and Reclamation Permit for the above-captioned <br />operation was received by the Division and deemed complete on Flay 16, 1985. <br />Newspaper "NOTICE" publication, one time a week for two consecutive weeks, may <br />proceed. Prior to the June 25-26, 1985 Board consideration of the <br />application, proof of publication, and proof that a copy of the publication <br />was either mailed, or personally served to: <br />,. 1. all owners of record of surface rights to the affected land; and <br />2. all owners of record of surface rights to the immediately adjacent <br />lands <br />must be submitted (see Mineral Rules and Regulations Number 3.2~. <br />The following clarifications are needed for the application to be considered <br />adequate: <br />Exhibit B - Mining Plan <br />/l. /a. Will an asphalt batch plant be located on site? <br />b'. If so, please provide a plan outlining proposed measures to <br />contain and dispose of any passible spill. <br />2. /a. Will the gravel be washed on site? <br />b. If so, please provide design and location of sediment pond <br />location, and location of the point of discharge. <br />c. An NPDES permit may be required from the Colorado Department of <br />Health. <br />3. To what depth will topsoil be removed? <br />4. Topsoil stockpiles should be graded to slopes no steeper than 3H:1V and <br />seeded with a perennial cover crop to stabilize this valuable resource; <br />please commit to such. <br />/5. ~ a. To what depth will overburden be removed? <br />„ b. Will overburden be salvaged and stockpiled? <br />/6.
