1
EXHIBIT E
~j ~ RECLAMATION PLAN
The land surface disturbed or redisturbed since June 1.
' 1972, and that to be disturbed by future gravel mining will
be reclaimed as habitat for wildlife and with a vegetative
cover consistent with the surrounding vegetation type.
Wildlife habitat is the principal use of land within several
miles south and west of the mining site. Urban development
occurs approximately 0.7 miles north of t he site and wildlands
extend over a mile east of the site. No intensive land use

except other gravel extr action operations and a cemetery
' occurs within approximately 0.3 miles of the site.
' Topsoiling
Six to 12 inches of topsoil will be stripped from land
areas before future pit excavation and stored away from anti-
cipated pit areas and drainageways.
' Since reclamation of the entire present pit will not be
possible until mining has ceased, the stockpiled topsoil will
1 be seeded to reduce erosion. This can be done by broadcast
' seeding of the topsoil with crested wheatgrass (NOrdan var.)
at a rate of 7 pounds pure live seed per acre until it is
' used as topsoil on pit areas.
On conclusion of mining operations, any potentially toxic
' earth materials and any earth materials with physical properties
' E-1
