1
i

EXHIBIT D
S~ MINING PLAN
Quarrying at the Hart Rok Redi Mixt Main Pit has been
underway for about 21 years. The present operator has
been quarrying since June of 1972• Production since June 1,
1972, has resulted in the disturbance and mining of approx-
imately 3 acres.
Quarrying is accomplished with front-end-loaders load-
ing onto trucks for a short haul to the 'ready mix plant.
The quarrying operation generally consists of widening
and deepening the valley of an intermittent stream and
removing the sand and gravel from the sides and bottom.
The mining plan is to remove existing topsoil from
virgin ground and add it to the existing topsoil stockpile
near the north end of the pit, followed by excavating the
exposed sand and gravel.
The quarrying operation is currently advancing to the
1
I
i

north and east, removing an old access road and widening the
pit at the north end. Sand and gravel is removed from
near-vertical walls standing at heights of approximately
10-15 feet. At the conclusion of excavating the present
bench, the operation will move to the lower end (north end)
of the pit and begin a second bench contained within the
D-1
