• ESHIBIT E - RECLAMATION PLAN
Once a permit has been issued, reclamation of the old borrow
area will commence. Reclamation will be performed in accordance
with the requirements of Rule 6: Reclamation Performance
Standards. The area will be graded, topsoiled (if available),
and seeded. The only portion of this area that will not be
reclaimed at this time will be areas set aside for mining
equipment, screen deck, stockpiling, and the haul road. This is
estimated at approximately 5 of the 14.5 acres.
Reclamation will occur concurrently with mining in an adjacent
area. After topsoil is removed and mining commences in a 5 acre
area, the previously mined area will be graded, topsoiled, and
seeded. The land will be reclaimed to its pre-existing
classification of rangeland. Slopes will be graded to no steeper
than 3H:lV. Most of the pit area will be graded to flat or
moderately sloping topography. Unusable materials (predominantly
silt or clay fines) left over from the screening process will be
used as backfill for the final reclamation grade. Swales will be
shaped to drain into the undisturbed drainages to the north,
east, and soutl- of the disturbed area. The area will be
predominantly flat but some topographic shaping will be
implemented in certain areas where the mining process was not as
deep. The final reclamation grade of one mining area will be
designed to meet the proposed final reclamation grades of the
adjacent 5 acre mined area.
Once the final reclamation grade is completed, topsoil will be
replaced to a depth of 5 inches or more, if available. This will
be dependent upon the topsoil balance for the entire site.
Typically existing topsoil in this area is thin and generally
less than 5 inches. If available, some salvaged topsoil will be
used to reclaim the 14 acres in the old borrow pit area.
• Once the area is topsoiled, the site will be seeded in
