made in the lab analysis. Two samples at another Raiser Steel
property illustrated much higher concentrations of iron than
normal. Both sets of samples were sent to ACZ Bookcliffs Lab.
In future sampling, these two wells will be monitored more
closely to identify any possible change in ground water
quality. Concentrations of the remaining metals tested in
this sector demonstrated either trace amounts or below
detectable limits.
The water in sector 2 is classified as sodium bicarbonate.
TDS values range from 549 mg/1 to 1758 mg/1. The water in
sector 2 is considered the highest quality in the permit area.
Metal concentrations have been identified in minor or trace
amounts.
Hydrologic sector 3 contains a relatively high amount of total
dissolved solids (3740 mg/1). The water contains high
concentrations of sodium with varying amounts of bicarbonate
and sulfate. It is evident this area has been affected by
previous underground mining. With the exception of iron,
metal concentrations appear in trace or below detectable
limits.
