<br />HAVERSON SERIES, ALKALI PHASE <br />• <br />Taxonomic Classification: Fine-loamy, mixed (calcareous), .n=sic family of <br />Ustic Porrifluvents. <br />Setting: Haverson alkali soils are along drainageways and on floodplains. <br />They have formed in mixed, calcareous, stratified alluvium. Slopes are 0 Co 3 <br />percent. <br />General Characteristics: Haverson alkali soils are wyll-drain yd with moderate <br />per.neability and medium runoff. Vegetation is primarily greasewood, big sagebrush <br />and mixed perennial and annual grasses. <br />Range in Characteristics: Textures are primarily loam with 15 to 25 percent <br />clay. Coarse fragment content is 0 to 30 percent with accumulations of visibly <br />secondary calcium carbonate below about 20 inches. Reaction is neutral to <br />~nodyrately alkaline with alkalinity decreasing with depth. Depth to bedrock <br />is greater than 60 inches. <br />Typy Location: 700 feet west, 1600 fy2t north of the southeast corner of <br />Section 4, 'f 3N, R101A. Pit nwnber 1. <br />• <br />
