r~ <br />FORELLE SERIES <br />Taxonomic Classification: Fine-loamy, :nix ad (calcareous) family of Borollic <br />Haplargids. <br />Setting: Forelle soils are on large upland fans. They have formed in loamy, <br />calcareous alluvium from local sources. Slopes ors 3 to 8 percent. <br />General Characteristics: Forelle soils are well-drained with :moderate <br />permeability and medium runoff. Vegetation is primarily big sagebrush and mixed <br />perennial and annual grasses. <br />Rangy in Characteristics: Textures are primarily sandy loam to loam with 20 <br />to 30 percent clay. Coarse fragment content is 0 to 15 percent with accumulations <br />of visible secondary calcium carbonate below about 1d inches. Reaction is ,mildly <br />• to moderately alkalin_° with alkalinity increasing with deptn. Depth to bedrock <br />is greater than 60 inenes. <br />'Type Location: 1200 feet west, 1900 feet south of the northeast corner of <br />Section 27, T2N, R101d.
