<br />COLORO'rf SERIES <br />Iaxono-nic Classification: Coarse-loamy, mixed (calcareous),~nzsic family of <br />Typic Torrifluvents. <br />Setting: Colorow soils era on floodplains and along drainages. Thzy have for.nad <br />in mixed, calcareous, stratified alluvium primarily dzrived from sandstone. Slopes <br />are 0 to 3 percent. <br />General Characteristics: Colorow soils are well-drained with moderately rapid <br />permeability and mzdium to slow runoff. Vegetation is primarily big sagebrush, <br />rabbitbrush and mixed perznnial grasses. <br />Range in Characteristics: fixtures are loam to sandy loam with 10 to td percent <br />clay. Coarse fragment content is 0 to 20 percent with accumulations of visible <br />. secondary calcium carbonate below about 3 feat. Reaction is moderately alkaline <br />with alkalinity fairly constant with depth.
