C~ <br />122 - Turley fine sandy loam, 3 to 8 percent slopes. <br />'The Turley soil is deep and well-drained. It developed from calcareous sandy <br />loam alluvium on valley-filling fans and low terraces. Small areas of Billings, <br />Kinnear, Nihill and Uffens soils were included in mapping. These soils occupy <br />less than 15 percent of the mapping unit. <br />In a typical profile, the surface layer is light brownish gray fine sandy <br />loam about 4 inches thick. The subsurface soil is light brownish gray loam about <br />10 inches thick. The substratum is calcareous light brownish gray loam at least <br />4b inches thick and is underlain with calcareous loamy alluvium. <br />The Turley soil has moderate permeability and medium runoff. 'f he erosion <br />hazard is slight to moderate. Available waterholding capacity is high. Effective <br />rooting depth is 60 inches or more. <br />• This soil is used for livestock grazing and wildlife habitat. The vegetation <br />is primarily mixed perennial grasses and sagebrush with large areas of bro~ne. <br />The average depth of suitable topsoil material is 60 inches, Phis material <br />is rated fair to good with suitability decreasing with depth. <br />• <br />
