<br />109 - Turley Variant loam, 2 to 6 percent slopes. <br />The Turley soil is deep, coarse-textured and wall-drainyd. It devylopyd <br />from loamy calcarous alluvium on vallyy-filling fans. Small areas of Potts and <br />Colorow were included in mapping. Potts soils are more developed and have more <br />clay. Colorow soils are stratified and ar=_ along drainages in gullies. Chyse <br />soils occupy lass than 15 percent of the mapping unit. <br />In a typical profile, the surface layer is light yellowish brown loam about <br />3 inches thick. 'fha subsurface soil is yellowish brown sandy loam about 7 inches <br />thick. The substratum is pale brown to light gray sandy loam about 40 inch ys <br />thick and is underlain with sandy loam alluvium to a depth of mory than v0 <br />inches. <br />The Turl:~y soil has moderate permeability and •nydiwn runoff. Che erosion <br />• hazard is moderate from wind. Availabl° watyrholding capacity is moderate. <br />Effective rooting depth is more than o0 inches. <br />This soil is used for livestock grazing and wildlife habitat. Che v=getation <br />is primarily big sagebrush and mixed perennial grass with large areas of <br />cheatgrass and prairie dog disturbance. <br />Tha average depth of suitably topsoil material is 50 inches.
