<br />101 - Colorow loan, 0 to 3 percent slopes. <br />Th_ Colorow soil is undeveloped, deep, and well-drained. It developed fro~n <br />:nixed, calcareous, stratified alluvium on floodplains .end along drainageways. <br />3ma11 areas of Bullied land were included in mapping. These lands occupy less <br />than 10 percent of the unit. <br />In a typical profile, the surface layer is pale brown loam about 5 inches <br />thick. The subsurface soil is light yellowish brown loam about 11 inches thick. <br />The substratu.n is light gray silt loam to loan about 24 inches thick and is <br />underlain with pale brown calcareous gravelly sandy loam to a depth of 40 to <br />60+ inches. <br />The Colorow soil has moderately rapid permeability and mediu.n to slow runoff. <br />The erosion hazard is :noder.ate from wind and water. Available water holding <br />• capacity is ,moderately high. Effective rooting depth is 60 inches or morn. <br />This soil is used for livestock grazing end wildlife habitat. The vegetation <br />is primarily big sagebrush, rabbitbrush, and mixed perennial grasses. <br />The average depth of suitable topsoil material is 60 inches. This material <br />is rated fair to good with suitability decreasing with depth. <br /> <br />
