C~
f. SERIES DESCRIPTIONS
The soil series and series variant descriptions are site-specific to the per.nit
area covered by this survey. 'These descriptions are presented in Illustration
B. 'f he descriptions present the taxonomic classification, physiographic Batting,
physical and chemical characteristics, range of characteristics, type location
and typical profile of each soil series or series variant. Series descriptions
ware obtained from representative soil pits and nave been correlated with their
respective laboratory results. 'These descriptions provide the fundamental
technical information for each soil type. They are also the basic reference
for a detailed description of each mapping unit.
• g. NAPPING UNIT DESCRIPTIONS
The mapping unit descriptions focus on the physiographic setting, inclusion of
other soils or land types and topsoil suitability and depth. 'These descriptions
ara found in Illustration A. For soil compl=_xes, the percentage for each soil
or land type is given. This percentage is based on the estimated average
composition of this unit over the entire study area and inay vary somewhat from
one location to another. Soils within a mapping unit ;nay occupy the full range
of characteristics for primary and included soil types.
•
II.I-11
