<br />REN'PSAC SERIES <br />r 1 <br />LJ <br />Taxonomic Classification: Loamy-skeletal, ~nixad (calcareous), frigid family <br />of Lithic Ustic Porriorthents. <br />Batting: Rentsac soils are on the highest ridgetops of the aaa along the county <br />road and fingering east and west. They have formed in sandstone and loamstone <br />residuum having more than 35 percent fine sand or coarser :naterial in the matrix. <br />Slopes are 6 to 20 percent. <br />General Characteristics: Rentsac soils ary well-drained with moderately rapid <br />to rapid permeability and slow to medium runoff. Vegytation is primarily juniper, <br />big sagebrush and mixed perennial grasses and cheatgrass. <br />Range in Characteristics: Textures are loam to vary channery loam with 15 <br />to 30 percent clay. Coarse fragment cont_nt is 30 to 50 percent with accwnulations <br />of visibly secondary calcium carbonate below about 6 inches. Reaction is .ni'ldly <br />to moderately alkaline with variable alkalinity.
