elevated pollutants in non-regulated stormwater runoff.
There have been no significant spills or leaks within the areas
subject to this SWMP within the past three years.
Potential Sources of Pollutants and stormwater Quality Controls
- The Mine No.3 operation is Subject to CDOMG Permit C-84-062. As
a result, BMPS have been addressed for those areas not within the
sediment pond contributing area, and are already in place.
- The Mine 1, 2, and Eckman Park operation is subject to CDOMG
Permit C-S1-071. As a result, BMPs have been addressed for those
areas not within the sediment pond contributing area, and are
already in place.
- The Foidel Creek Mine operation (TCC) is subject to CDOMG Permit
C-82-056. As a result, BMPs have been addressed for those areas not
within the sediment pond contributing area, and are already in
place.
Potential sources for pollutants within the SWMP area and their
associated BMPs include:
a) County Road drainage - CYVCC does not control, nor is
responsible, for stormwater discharge associated with the county
roads located within the permit boundary areas.
b) Small Area Exemptions
There are several areas which fall within the guidelines of CDOMG
Rule 4.05.2(3)(a)(b) within the three permits subsidiary to CYVCC.
These are described below:
- Pond H area covers 1.5 acres and is located south of Pond H
and consists of an east facing slope which drains down to County
Road #27~s embankment. The area is completely revegetated which
works as a vegetative filter.
- Pond F area covers approximatley 5 acres and is located
southwest and northeast of Pond F and consists of a 0.5 acre paved
parking lot and slope which drains down to the west embankment of
Pond F. Water may potentially drain down along the north side of
Pond F and light-use road/railroad embankment. The area is
vegetated and serves as a vegetative filter and will have a rock
check dam which will additionally filter surface runoff prior to
exiting the site.
- Railroad Spur Extension area - covers 2.75 acres and is
located west of Pinnacle Peak adjacent to the railroad embankment.
Page 4
