Foidel Creek Mine
Mining process activities and loading facilities are used Twentymile
Coal Company's operation. The operation outside of the sediment pond
drainage (subject to this SWMP) is not exposed to risk of additional
pollutants resulting from:
- Loading/unloading operations;
- outdoor storage of chemicals or equipment;
- outdoor milling or processing activities;
- tailings ponds;
- crushing facilities or significant dust/particulate generation;
- On-site waste disposal practices;
- stockpiles of overburden, raw material, intermediate products,
finished products, or waste products.
While some of the approved small area exemptions are adjacent to
activities relating to loading operations, product storage, crushing
facilities, and equipment storage areas, CYVCC does not feel that the
exemption areas are not at a significant risk of additional pollutants
due to the presence of previously established BMP's which include
vegetative cover, berms, rock filters, silt fences, and shallow slopes.
Mine 3
Given that the operation is in final reclamation and the remaining
office facility is used primarily by a ranching operation, the southern
portion of the operation outside of the sediment pond drainage (subject
to this SWMP) is not exposed to risk of additional pollutants resulting
from:
- Loading/unloading operations;
- outdoor storage of chemicals or equipment;
- outdoor milling or processing activities;
- tailings ponds;
- crushing facilities or significant dust/particulate generation;
- On-site waste disposal practices;
- stockpiles of overburden, raw material, intermediate products,
finished products, or waste products.
As noted previously, the minimal degree of flow associated with the
seeps near the entrance to Mine 3 South do not indicate the presence of
a substantial risk for the additional contribution of pollutants to
runoff in this area.
Page to
