equal mixture of ponderosa pine, Pimps ponderosa, and douglas fir, Pseudotsuga
menziesii.
We will also plant approximately 30 shrubs per acre to help more quickly reestablish
wildlife habitat. We will plant equal numbers of wax currant, Ribes cereum, and meadow
rose, Rosa tomentosa.
6 3.4 l~ (dl Post mining.ponds. streams and buildings:
No water features or any structures will be affected. No ponds or any water features will
be constructed or used.
No other features will be created which will potentially affect the hydrological balance
or off-site azeas. Reclamation efforts will result in contoured slopes to trap rain and
runoff. We will also use some rock water-bazs in the natural draws to prevent any major
gullying which might occur after heary rain. Presently, timber from the Hayman fire is
being laid down across slope and across these depressions to reduce possible erosion.
Silt fences will be established for slopes greater than 20 percent. These will be removed
after 50 percent revegetation has occurred.
6 3 4 (1) (el Reclamation treatment of waste rock:
No waste rock or dumps will remain on the sites after mining. The waste rocks are
silicates and will need no treatment to prevent leaching or toxic materials as none are
produced. All materials will be used to backfill the original excavations.
6.3.4 (r21 Actual reclamation cost estimates:
Cost estimate is based on maximum excavations and disturbances for any one season
(worst case scenario). Estimates are based on actual past costs for reclamation.
Reclaiming one excavation of 12,000 ft2, 120 feet by 100 feet by 20 feet deep, and two
open prospects about 1,600 ft2 each, no more than 8 feet deep. Waste rock is stored
within 20 feet of excavation. Topsoil is stored within 20 feet of the excavation. No roads
aze created which need reclaimed. Other disturbed azeas such as machine footprint,
waste rock and soil storage sites need only be graded and seeded.
Equipment rental (Cat E110B) (per week)
Equipment haulage from Buena Vista
Diesel, lube, and maintenance
Roading in equipment to site
Backfill, contouring, and grading
Topsoil application and raking
Seeding and hand raking
Planting trees
Cost of seeds
$ 1,200.00
$ 300.00
at cost $ 100.00
4 hours @ $ 20.00 $ 80.00
9 hours @ $20.00 $ 180.00
5 hours @ $ 20.00 $ 100.00
10 hours @ 25.00 $ 250.00
8 hours @ 25.00 $ 200.00
201bs @ $ 8.00 $ 160.00
