<br />SMF947: NE/NE/SW/NW of Sec.34-T6N-R91W, (UTM: 13,279900 mE, <br />4479200 mP7). A lithic scatter is located on a knoll <br />between two minor streams, and adjacent to a large <br />intermittent stream drainage. Tliis site was completely <br />surface collected, gridded and shovel tested by order <br />of the Principal Investigator, No further work is <br />recommended. <br />S41F948: NSJ/NE/NE/NE of Sec.8-TSN-R90W. (UTM: 13,287080 mE, <br />4476100 m?J). A pictograph and petroglyph site is <br />located on the sandstone wall of a cliff on the south <br />side of [he Williams Fork Ptountains. The drainage <br />culminates a[ the Williams Fork River. Extensive <br />color photographs were taken of this site in order <br />to show the contrast of red and yellow ocher. This <br />site will be recommended to the National Register. <br />Avoidance is recommended. If construction activity <br />' comes within i0 feet of the site, the site should <br />' be fenced. <br />SMF949: NE/NE/SE/SW of Sec.6-TSN-R90W. (UTM: 13,285000 mE, <br />4476780 mN). A rock shelter with associated red ocher <br />figurine and abraded areas was recorded. It is recom- <br />mended that this site be tested to determine National <br />•- `- Register eligibility. If construction activity comes <br />within 50 feet of the site, the site should be <br />fenced. <br />Historic Sites <br />Leeal Locations <br />SMF950: NW/NE/NW of Sec.10-TSN-R911J. Historic structures <br />with a scattering of recent debris are located on <br />the northwest fork at the head of the Ute Gulch. It <br />is in a small meadow with a spring. The area is <br />presently being used as a sheep water hole and bedding <br />ground. <br />SMF348: At the special request of Mr. Fred Samson, this pre- <br />viously recorded historical site was mapped and <br />photographed. This site was surveyed by LOPA <br />1177-84. (See Appendix A) <br />24 <br />
