<br />A lithic scatter with a concentration of primary and
<br />secondary flakes (suggesting a possible tool manufacturing
<br />location), a grinding tool (mano) Fragment, and several
<br />fire-cracked rock fragments were recorded. Evidence
<br />most likely indicates a campsite of temporary nature.
<br />If tl~e site will be impacted, monitoring of construc-
<br />tion is recommended. If construction activity comes
<br />within 50 Feet of the site, the site should be fenced.
<br />SMF946: NEJNE/SW/NW Sec.34-T6N-R91W. (UTM: liA, 13,279800 mE,
<br />4479150 mN, i/B, 13,279780 mE, 4479130 mN. IIC,
<br />13,279800 mE, 4479120 mN. I/D, 13,279820 mE, 4479130
<br />mN). A lithic scatter was found on a small sandstone
<br />outcropping above an intermittent stream. Retouched
<br />flakes, one side-notched base, one obsidian flake,
<br />and one corner-notched base were found within a concen-
<br />tration of chalcedony flakes. This site was completely
<br />surface collected, gridded and shovel tested, at [he
<br />instructions of the Principal Investigator. No fucther
<br />work is recommended.
