(i) an estimate of the periods of time which will be required for the various
stages or phases of the operation.
This operation will not have definite phases but will continue gradual movement
forward to the north and west involving a maximum of 40 acres at any one time.
Predicting business demand is difficult, but present estimates are that 10 - 15 years
mining will be required before reclamation can commence.
(ii) a description of the site and location of each area to be worked during each
phase.
As stated earlier, this operation will not have definite phases but will show
gradual continued movement to the north and west. Mining will probably occupy
20 - 25 A with stockpiling occupying another 5 - 8 A, with the balance in various
stages of final reclamation.
(iii) outline the sequence in which each stage of the operation will be carried
out.
Mining will start itt the southeast comer of the permit area and move north and west
as described above. When the entire southern portion is opened from east to west,
mining will then continue northerly in the same manner. This is a large deposit,
primarily sand, and cotild have an economic life of over 100 years. As stated
earlier, reclamation will be an ongoing part of the operation following mining and
stockpiling as closely as operationally feasible.
CRS 34-32.-112 (b) (VIII) of the Act states: "A timetable estimating the periods
required for the various stages of the mining operation. The operator shall not be
required to meet the timetable, nor shall the timetable be subject to independent
review by the Board of office."
(}) a map in Exhibit C may be used along with the narrative to present the
following information:
(i) nature; depth and thickness of the deposit to be mine and thickness and
type of overburden:
The aggregate varies from 20' to 40' or more in some areas. The Gilcrest Series has
no overburden. Topsoil or grov<~Ih media ranges from 4" - 8" above the aggregate.
(ii) nature of the stratum immediately beneath the material to be mined in
sedimentary deposits.
The material below the aggregate is primarily sandstone.
