• • EXHIBIT "D"
Mining Plan Information
(a) description of the methods of mining in each stage of operation as related to surface
disturbances:
Mining methods will be consistent throughout the life of this mining operation. The topsoil
or growth media will be salvaged and stockpiled in an orderly berm suitable for seeding in
the event it is to remain for more than one growing season. The stockpiles of topsoil will
be placed in strategic locations for replacement in reclamation. The aggregate will be
removed most probably by front-end loader for transport to a screening or crushing and
screening system for processing into the required products, and stockpiled for use as
business demand dictates. According to the SCS report for the Gilcrest series soil, which
constitutes most of the permit area, the topsoil or growth media ranges from 4" to 8". The
pit floor will daylight to existing contours where possible. A 25-foot setback will be
maintained from the fences on the perimeters where the floor does not daylight, and a
backslope of 3H:1 V will be used, and will be constructed as mining proceeds.
(b) earthmoving:
The eartlunoving equipment to be used on the site will consist of self-propelled scraper,
dozer and front-end wheeled loaders, or any combination thereof.
(c) water diversions and impoundments:
There will be no water diversions or impoundments on site since no water will be used
or required for this operation. Tlie operator is applying for a Colorado Water Quali[y
Control Division Storntwater Discharge Permit concurrently with the development of this
application.
(d) size of the area to be worked at any one time:
A maximum of 40 acres will be affected at any one time and will consist of mining,
processing and stockpiling with reclamation following these processes as closely as
operationally feasible.
(e) an approximate timetable to describe the mining operation and fhe relationship
between mining and reclamation.
As stated above, reclamation will follow mining and processing as closely as operationally
feasible. Present plans are to reclaim within 2 - 3 years or sooner after sufficient
operating room has been opened, and to follow as closely as
possible after mining continues. As stated above, the backsloping will be performed as part
of the mining operation.
