The response consists of a cover letter and a new SEDCAD
run for the Deer Creek Quarry sediment control plan. There are
four responses and commitments included in the cover letter.
The commitment to re-route the riprap channel between ponds UB1 to
UB2 is acceptable to the Division. The commitment to buttress the
southeast end of the entrance sediment pond with coarse material is
also acceptable. This needs to be completed so that the outer
slope of the pond is free draining.
The Division has reviewed and approved the new SEDCAD run for the
site and re-design of pond MB1. You are authorized to re-construct
pond MB1 to the new design criteria.
The Division will need to be notified which type of structure you
will be installing at the entrance gate (see the inspection report
of April 25, 1997). If you intend to install a trench at that
location, we will need to be informed of its width and depth.
At the conclusion of the installation of the runoff structures,
there are two written certifications which must be received prior
to the Division's final acceptance of the stone water routing plan.
These are summarized in items 1 and 2 on page 1 of Allen Sorenson's
memo of February 19, 1997 regarding quarry drainage at the Deer
Creek Quarry. Item no. 1 requires that a written certification
stating that the riprap was adequately sized needs to be prepared
by a qualified professional and provided to the Division at the

STATE OF COLORADO
