• condition comparable to that existing prior to subsidence. The only
exception to this being the Thompson Ranch Buildings where liability
associated with potential subsidence is expressly limited by the
provisions of property transfers.
4.20.4 BUFFER ZONES
There are no perennial streams or impoundments with storage volumes in
excess of twenty acre feet within the area which would potentially be
effected by underground mining activities. In addition, Dorchester
specifically located existing ponds either outside of the area of mining
disturbance or above the main entries and has lined the only two (2) ponds
which normally contain significant quantities of water with flexible
synthetic hypalon liners.
Underground mining activities will not be conducted beneath any aquifer
• that serves as a significant source of water supply to any public water
system. The City of Florence water line is monitored for potential
subsidence impacts on a quarterly basis. EFCI is also ready to implement
immediate mitigation measures 1n the unlikely event that the pipeline is
damaged by subsidence.
Underground mining will not be conducted beneath or in close proximity to
any public buildings or urbanized areas.

4.20-2
