Box 162 1 <br />Dove Creek, CO. 81324 <br />(970) 677-2767 <br />/ i ~ <br />~~/ i <br />INTRODUCTION G <br />NEED FOR PROPOSED ACTION: H&H Stone has requested a permit to quarn <br />flagstone and building stone. The permit is authorized under the Mineral Materials Act of <br />1947 (July 31, 1947), as amended (30U.S. Code 601 seq.). The law authorizes the BLM <br />to sell mineral materials at fair market value. This contract will be noncompetitive and <br />subject to the terms outlined within 43 CFR 3600 re,ulations. <br />PLAN CONFORMANCE REVIEW: The proposed mineral material permit lie ~~ ithin the <br />planning area encompassed by the 198 San Juan-San Miguel Reource Management Plan. <br />1991 San Juan /San Miguel AMEND/EIS and the 1994 Drv Creek Basin CRMP. <br />The proposed action has been reviewed for conformance with this plan (43 CFR 1610.x. <br />BLM 1617.3). <br />RELATIONSHIP TO STATUTES. REGULATIONS. OR OTHER PLANS: The <br />proposed mineral material permit is governed by a wide array of federal laws such as (but <br />not limited to) the Endangered Species Act of 1973, the 1966 National Historic <br />Preservation Act as amended, and the National Environmental Policy .Act of 1969. <br />The Gunnison Sage Grouse Conservation Plan -San Miguel Basin.
