Twentymile Coal Company: Fish Creek & Rail Load Out <br />U.S. Waters lnventory & Wetland Delineation <br />• 1.0 INTRODUCTION <br />An inventory of the Waters of the United States and wetland delineation <br />survey was conducted for Twentymile Coal Company on July 17, 2001. Areas <br />surveyed included the access road corridor for the Fish Creek Ventilation shaft and <br />the access road corridor for the Rail Road Load Out. The survey and delineation <br />were performed in accordance with the requirements of Section 404 (b)(1) Guidelines <br />of the Clean Water Act (40 CFR 320). This report contains: <br />• Persons performing the survey; <br />• Locations of the proposed development area; <br />• A general description of environmental conditions prevalent at the site and <br />specific land use activities that have altered natural wetland conditions; <br />• Description of survey inventory and delineation methods; <br />• Location and description of Waters of the United States and the various wetland <br />and aquatic habitats identified within the property boundaries; and <br />• Discussion of wetland value and function. <br />Each of these items are presented categorically by section below. <br />2.0 PERSONS PERFORMING THE SURVEY <br />Wayne Erickson and Ken Carlson of Habitat Management, Inc. conducted the <br />survey and delineation. The survey was performed July 17, 2001. Montgomery <br />Watson Harza produced site mapping. <br />3.0 PROPERTY LOCATION <br />The proposed development areas are located in the vicinity of the Twentymile <br />Coal Company mine facility southwest of Steamboat Springs, Colorado (see Maps 1 <br /> <br />Habitat Management, Inc. 1 7/20/01 <br />
