SUPPLEMENT TO EXHIBIT C - bIINING PLAN
This application is for a surface type mining operation
for gravel to be used in maintenance of county roads.
Exploration in the area shows a gravel depth of approximately
ten feet, with very little or no overburden and a layer of
topsoil ranging from 4" to 6".
The mining operation will consist of removing the
topsoil and overburden and stockpiling it in the southeast
corner of the pit area which is the highest point and least
subject to erosion. The topsoil and overburden removal will
be done with a bulldozer and front end loader.
The top soil and overburden will only be removed from
small areas as needed to accomadate the current need. The
actual mining will be done with a front end loader which will
take the gravel from the exposed layer and load it into
county dump trucks. The trucks will haul directly to the
maintenance site. The gravel will not be graded o r washed,
but will be used just as it comes from the pit. After being
hauled to the maintenance site the gravel will be spread
with a vounty maintainer.
This pit will probably not be used over two or three
times a year add a small area of exposed gravel will furnish
enough for use each year.
