acknowledges that some deterioration may have occurred since the passage of
• SMCRA. In the event that up-gradient modifications fail to stabilize the
gullies, p6M and CDM&G will promptly confer and agree upon appropriate
remedial measures. Such repair work will be formulated with due regard to (1)
the pre-SMCRA existence of the gullies, (2) the risk of damage to undisturbed
land in making repairs, and (3) the limitations of the ability of safely
operating equipment on the slope.
Due to the complexity of the drainage control plan for the Goat Trail,
the road was subdivided into 14 segments. The following provides a
description of each segment and the manner in which drainage will be
controlled. The road segments are shown on Exhibit 3.SF-1 while the
delineation of the subwatersheds contributing flow to the road are shown on
•
Exhibit 4.6-21. Modeling of the runoff from the road and associated areas was
performed using the SEDCAD+ computer model. The curve numbers used are values
previously used and approved during the initial modeling efforts for designing
the road culverts and tipple pond capacities. Results of the modeling effort
and drainage control structures are provided at the end of this appendix.~A
key cross-referencing the subwatershed nomenclature used on Exhibit 4.6-21 and
the SEDCAD+ nomenclature is also provided in this appendix.
Segment 1 (lA to 1B):
Drainage Areas - Disturbed Area 2A - includes a portion of the small
area exemption south of shop
containing the oil dock (the oil
dock area itself has berms to
provide spill containment)
Disturbed Area 6 - includes road drainage above the
Goat Trail on the east side of
the shop.
Drainage Control - Road is crowned with berm on outslope side of road to
carry all drainage except drainage from center of road
to inslope side. A water cross-over will be placed
approximately midway down Segment 1 to enable the
inslope drainage to drain to the outslope berm. Water
3.SF-3 May 14, 1993
